Buffalo Bills Training Camp Observations Thus Far From Bobbles to Biscuits

Guess what? We still don’t have a definitive quarterback. Yes, I realize this comes as a shock but try to handle it (I really wish there was a sarcasm font). Something else that you already know but is great to repeat is that we appear to have a dominant defense. I even saw rumblings of some saying they are better than the Seahawks! There also was the big event of Rex eating a dog biscuit and guess who else did? Read on to find out.

Back to the quarterback saga or as Doug Whaley called it, “quarterback purgatory”. Great word choice Doug except I think most people thought he was referring to the fact that the Buffalo Bills don’t have a clear starting quarterback. What Whaley actually was referring to with those words was the draft situation saying the Bills are too good to get a 1st or 2nd pick which is usually a quarterback. He did acknowledge that they MAY have a franchise quarterback but that hasn’t been proven. Honestly I have whip lash reading all the commentary and play-by-play of camp. One minute EJ Manuel stinks and Matt Cassel and Tyrod Taylor are on fire. The next minute Manuel is throwing lasers and completing most of his passes and Taylor and Cassel are faltering. This is exhausting!

With the above being said, Rex Ryan did say it was the best offensive outing of camp thus far. Rex also acknowledged after practice on Thursday that EJ did have a good day and made a point to mention Tyrod Taylor did too as well as Matt Cassel. Sammy Watkins was limited but it appears to be nothing serious.

Also on the offensive side, yes I said offensive side, DT Kyle Williams played Tight End. Yes folks. From dog biscuits to a big dog playing catch (actually he blocked) there was a little bit of everything. Oh and as I mentioned someone else did eat a dog biscuit…Terry Pegula! Could we love him anymore? We will I have a feeling this season.
