One Buffalo Solidified – Russ Brandon Now CEO of Both Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres

Once again, Terry and Kim Pegula made a decision that will benefit the Buffalo community. The Pegulas announced today Russ Brandon will not only serve as President of the Buffalo Bills but also President of the Buffalo Sabres. It really is a smart decision considering like the Bills did, the Sabres are in need of some major overhaul.
Who is Russ Brandon?
Russ Brandon is a 1989 graduate from the current host of Buffalo Bills Training Camp, St. John Fisher College (side note: he was inducted into the SJFC Athletic Hall of Fame for his success on its baseball team). He has been with the Buffalo Bills organization since 1997. He became an executive with the team in 2006 and was named President of the Buffalo Bills in 2013. Russ has been with the team through some trying times but the Pegulas see something in him that is working and they have given us no reason to doubt them. (I of course want Russ to succeed because we are both Fisher communication alums and we come from good stock!)
So what does this mean for the Buffalo Bills?
Not a lot I would imagine on the surface but as a whole this decision does solidify the Pegulas commitment to the City of Buffalo and to Western New York. By having a consistent leadership team at the helm, both the Sabres and the Bills will grow together and hopefully have the same formula for success. It is something this area has waited a long time for and we are on the brink. We are in the Pegulas Era and finally it looks like the Renaissance and not the Great Depression.
