Jeremy Hill, Andre Williams, Tre Mason, Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, and, of course, ODB. These guys were all rookies in 2014, but chances are, if you won your fantasy league, you had one or more of these guys on your team. They’re all worthy of consideration in the first 4 rounds of this year’s fantasy drafts too. So with the impact of rookies in 2014, will we see more rookies becoming important players in Fantasy Football?

If you’re looking for the 2015 versions of the guys listed above, here are 6 rookies to look at this year in Fantasy Football and why they belong on your radar. It is worth mentioning, however, that if you play in a Dynasty league, Todd Gurley should be on your wish list because he’s probably the most talented player in this year’s rookie draft. But, since he most likely will miss a good chunk of this season, we’re taking a look at guys who should contribute immediately for their teams.

Melvin Gordon, RB, San Diego Chargers – With the departure of Ryan Mathews, Gordon should be the consensus number 1 back for the Chargers this season. Danny Woodhead will be back from the broken leg he suffered last season and will probably be the main pass catching back for Phillip Rivers. When it comes to the remaining backs, Brandon Oliver and Donald Brown, the talent gap is too great and Gordon will see work early and often in San Diego. Take him ahead of backs like Andre Ellington, Carlos Hyde and Jonathan Stewart.

Amari Cooper, WR, Oakland Raiders – The Oakland Raiders are a team on the rise. A legit RB in Latavius Murray, an emerging QB in Derek Carr, and a running mate on the other side in Michael Crabtree have all of the makings of a solid rookie campaign for Cooper. With great hands and the size to play the ball in the air, Cooper can do it all on the field. He won’t be the most consistent receiver, but he deserves to be picked over veterans like Eric Decker, Roddy White and Mike Wallace.

TJ Yeldon, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars – Let me be clear, I’m not a big fan of TJ Yeldon as a running back. He doesn’t run with power and seems to avoid contact, even though he’s 226 pounds. But, there’s a lot to be said for a running back without competition. There’s no competition for Yeldon in Jacksonville. Denard Robinson is a change of pace back, and Toby Gerhart shouldn’t have been an NFL player to begin with. If you’re looking for a FLEX back or RB3, Yeldon is a guy to look at over Joseph Randle, Rashad Jennings or Isaiah Crowell.

Kevin White, WR ,Chicago Bears – The departure of Brandon Marshall leaves a big void opposite Alshon Jeffrey in Chicago. White will certainly benefit from the single coverage as defenses focus on Jeffrey. You hate to have to count on Jay Cutler to spark a breakout season, but he did it once before with Jeffrey. White has size and speed, but you have to wonder if he was just a one-year wonder in West Virginia. Still, I’ll take a chance on White as a top-30 WR ahead of guys Torrey Smith, Marques Colston and Larry Fitzgerald.

Tevin Coleman, RB, Atlanta Falcons – We’re into reach territory here folks. Coleman has a great opportunity to break out in Atlanta, but it won’t go unchallenged. Atlanta has to run the ball, they can’t rely on Julio Jones and Matt Ryan to get to the playoffs. That means someone has to step up. Why not Coleman? Over 2000 yards rushing last season at Indiana, he’s just as good as Devonta Freeman, but bigger. He’ll be part of a platoon early in the season, but his home run ability may create distance as the season progresses. That said, he’s an RB3 ahead of players like Bishop Sankey, Doug Martin and Ryan Mathews.

Nelson Agholor, WR, Philadelphia Eagles – Outside of Jordan Matthews, there are no other good WRs in Philly, so Agholor should see a lot of balls. While Chip Kelly will probably move to a run heavy offense after adding Demarco Murray and Ryan Mathews, you have to throw the ball to win in the NFL. If Sam Bradford stays healthy, look for Agholor to have a big rookie season. He has a similar skill set to Jeremy Maclin, whom he’ll replace in Philly. Agholor is a WR4 with WR2 upside. Take him before guys like Pierre Garcon, Devante Adams and Kenny Stills.
