The buzz hasn’t died down yet from the U.S. Women’s National Team’s win in the World Cup Finals as it shouldn’t. Some of the “loudest” cheers and intense support came from the Buffalo Bills players. Perhaps it is because of Abby Wambach being a Pittsford, NY native, the home of Buffalo Bills training camp or it is just because our team is really American’s team sporting red, white and blue that there was so much support. I think those reasons do hold true but I think there is another one worth mentioning.

The support the Buffalo Bills players showed for the U.S. Women’s National Team proves these men are class acts. They truly are sportsmen not only because they love sports besides football but because they support a team outside of their own and supported their country. That is how it should be. That behavior is what young athletes should want to emulate not the on and off the field shenanigans that sometimes happen.
Time and time again, not just with the World Cup, the Buffalo Bills players have showed class and made the organization and fans proud. From their philanthropy to their support of the Western New York community to fans’ individual causes, they make us want them to win even more. They deserve success and they deserve our support. I think they’ve more than earned it.
