Top Ten Reasons Buffalo Bills Fans are the Best NFL Fans

I had so much fun with the other one, I thought I would do another top ten list. This time it focuses on us, the fans. Opinions on Buffalo Bills fans can differ depending on what market you are in but who cares? Here are the reasons why those reasons (no matter how ridiculous they are) don't matter when it comes to being the best fans. 10.) History: The team was founded in 1960 has a long history. In 1970, the team joined the NFL as part of the NFL-AFL merger. There is an ingrained love of football in Western New York and being it has been around for so many years, that love has been passed on from generation to generation.
9.) Characters: No Bills game is complete without Elvis and his Buffalo Bills guitar, the chef, crazy chicken wing hats and various team pride face paint. There are also those who go shirtless in the middle of winter but I think there MAY be something else that contributes to that besides team pride. And the volume? Did you say something? Exactly.
8.) Red, White, Blue: People will argue the Cowboys are "America's Team". Guess what? You are missing a color. We are the Red, White and Blue and of course for all you geographers out there, the ONLY REAL New York Team
7.) Food: An area with so much good food has to harbor the greatest fans. From the Anchor Bar or Duff's wings to Ted's. Buffalo has the flavor for good food and football.
6.) Tailgating : Speaking of food. Tailgating. You haven't lived until you have experienced Buffalo Bills game tailgating. The RV lot alone features some pretty elaborate (and quite unique to say the least) set ups complete with a cast of characters that bleed red, white and blue. The smell of grills, the footballs in the air and of course the various games of beer pong make it quite the experience.
5.) Fun: Did you read the above? Buffalo Bills fans are fun. I mean come on...with a city that hosts an out of this world party named Dyngus Day (There is NOTHING like Dyngus Day), it has to feature some pretty fun people.
4.) Hard working: Buffalo Bills fans are hard working genuinely good people. Western New York has some of the friendliest and good hearted people than anywhere else in the nation or world for that matter. These people come from generations of good stock.
3.) What bandwagon?: We don't jump on the bandwagon, we built it and we Circle it.
2.) Hope: Despite not having seen the playoffs since I barely hit puberty (okay maybe not that long), Buffalo Bills fans still keep going to games, still keep buying the merchandise and still sing the praises of their team. Some would call us masochists, I say we are hopeful.
1.) Loyalty: Buffalo has endured, as mentioned above, quite the post-season drought. From the Buffalo Bills to the Buffalo Sabres, this area, despite so long without a winning season have stayed behind their team. Think about it. How many people say they used to be Bills fans? Not many if any. That loyalty translates not just to hometown fans but to fans across the country. Once a Bills fan, always a Bills fan.
