Buffalo Bills Season Ticket Sales Record To Be Broken: Thank the Pegulas

Terry and Kim Pegula are geniuses. It is as simple as that. Why? The Buffalo Bills are on the verge of breaking the season ticket sales record. What does that tell us? It tells us the Buffalo Bills new owners know what they are doing. They brought in an electrifying force in Rex Ryan who clearly generates interest and enthusiasm. After Rex came all the other coaching moves and the player additions including LeSean McCoy, Richie Incognito and Percy Harvin to name a few. Then news broke yesterday that the Buffalo Bills would be on a GLOBAL stage on October 25th. This was all made possible because the Pegulas are willing and able to take chances to win.
This much excitement about the Bills hasn’t been around for years. Guess when the previous record was broken? 1992. Since it is “Throwback Thursday” I will give you a history lesson. The 1992-1993 season included the greatest comeback in NFL history when then backup quarterback Frank Reich lead the Bills on a 35 – 3 run in the second half against the then Houston Oilers to a 41-38 overtime win. The Bills made it to the Super Bowl that year and lost to the Dallas Cowboys. It was the age of the greats. It was the era of the dynasty of the 90s and a reminder of what the playoffs were like for us diehard fans.
Which brings me back to the present and the Pegulas. I just want to say thank you to them. As a diehard life-long Buffalo Bills fan you have given this little girl crying in front of the TV as the kick sailed wide-right, hope as a 30-something blog writer. The Pegulas have proven they want the Buffalo Bills to win. They want the team to win not only for themselves but for the city and for fans everywhere. Terry and Kim represent what it means to be “all-in” and for that I thank them. Thank you for giving fans something they have wanted so desperately for years: another chance at greatness.
