We’re only a few hours away from the 2015 NFL draft! Barring a trade, the Buffalo Bills won’t be on the clock untiltomorrow at pick number 50. With only six picks total, the Bills are fortunate to not have many glaring holes to fill. After an aggressive free agency, the Buffalo Bills are in a great position to truly take the best player available.

Without further ado, here is the Bills Fanatics 2015 mock draft!

Round 2, Pick 50: Bryce Petty, QB, BAYLOR Under Rex Ryan, the New York Jets selected a defensive player with their first pick in five-out-of-six drafts. The only exception? Rex Ryan’s first draft with the team when the Jets selected Mark Sanchez. If Bryce Petty is on the board when the Bills pick, history will repeat itself.

It seems crazy to give up on EJ Manuel after only 14 games. However, Doug Whaley has consistently said this offseason that the Bills don’t have a marquee/franchise quarterback and in a recent pre-draft luncheon, that if there is a quarterback worthy of the 50th selection, the Bills will take him. In addition, Whaley mentioned “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” several times when discussing quarterbacks. He followed up those comments in a radio interview that Bryce Petty was a guy that could “come in and compete right away.” In addition, Whaley made a personal visit to Petty in Texas right before the draft.

Sure, the Bills visit with all the top prospects, but the connections to Bryce Petty continue to add up. Rex Ryan was rumored to have hosted a private workout with Petty after the combine. Gil Brandt of NFL.com tweeted it out, but quickly deleted it. The local Bills beat reporters say their sources deny the workout ever took place, but as the old saying goes, “when there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

Round 3, Pick 81: Ali Marpet, OL, Hobart

With the 81st overall selection the Bills add the all-star Division-III offensive lineman. Seen as a guard at the next level, Marpet is considered an elite athlete for an offensive lineman and, by all accounts, had an incredible pre-draft process. Any concerns of how Marpet would fare versus better competition were erased when he beat up on Division I’s top senior prospects at the Senior Bowl in February.

Round 5, Pick 155: Nick O’Leary, TE, Florida State

Known for being the grandson of golf legend Jack Nicklaus and not wearing gloves, this throw back tight end seems like an ideal fit for Greg Romans offense. A go-getter with guts, a willing blocker, and possessing great hands, O’Leary would be a nice fit for an offense that will likely suit up four tight ends on game day. He won’t wow anyone with his athleticism, but he is just a good football player and won’t ever asked to be a star on a Buffalo offense that added a plethora of weapons this offseason, including tight end Charles Clay.

Round 6, Pick 188: Chaz Green, OT, Florida

Green, was reportedly a pre-draft visitor for the Bills. The tackle out of Florida dealt with injuries all through his college career. He dealt with injuries in 2011 and 2012 and missed the entire 2013 season with a torn labrum. Despite his injuries, Green has the look of an NFL tackle. He has good strength and scouts credit his movement skills. With the frame of an NFL tackle, Green could develop nicely, and provide depth at a position where the Bills sorely need it.

Round 6, Pick 194: Max Valles, OLB/DE, Virginia

Third team All-ACC in 2014, leading the team with nine sacks. More of an athlete than a football player, extremely raw prospect in need of more experience and coaching. Valles possess a long frame with room for weight. A versatile player playing both linebacker and defensive end in college, but showed very little instinct at either position. Bills take a sixth-round flier in hopes Rex Ryan and his staff can maximize Valles potential.

Round 7, Pick 234: Darius Kilgo, NT, Maryland

Another rumored pre-draft vistor, Kilgo looks the part of an NFL nose tackle. At 6’3”, 320 pounds, Kilgo moves better than you would think. A three-year starter at Maryland and a special team’s standout, blocking three field goals during his college career. However, Kilgo is said to have a lack of aggression and play “hot-and-cold.” The Bills take a flier in the seventh to see if Rex Ryan and his staff can motivate the big-framed nose tackle.
